The Rhythm Touch team — comprised of Bara Iulia, Mihali Mărioara, Popa Ioana, and Rizel Cătălina, all students from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (Universitatea Tehnica din Cluj-Napoca) in Romania — visited Cyprus during the week of June 30 to July 4, claiming their prize for winning first place in the inaugural EUt+ Incubation Program.
During their stay, the students were hosted by the EUt+ Coordination Center and the Cyprus University of Technology. Their experience was filled with innovation, creativity, and interaction with Cyprus’s academic and entrepreneurial community.
Throughout the week, the team had multiple opportunities to present their groundbreaking product, the Rhythm Touch bracelet — a device that transforms music into vibrations, enabling individuals with hearing impairments to feel the music. They shared their innovation with experts in the field of technology and inclusion.
On June 28, they participated in the MedFestival at Potamos Germasogeias, where members of the Cyprus Deaf Association had the chance to try the bracelet during a live concert by Locomondo. It was a powerful and emotional moment, highlighting how technology can enhance inclusion and accessibility.
In Nicosia, the team visited the CYENS Centre of Excellence, where they met with startup teams and received valuable feedback on both the technical and business aspects of their product. They also showcased the bracelet at the School for the Deaf, where the response was enthusiastic and the interest in future collaboration was strong.
The team was welcomed by SignalGeneriX, where discussions about potential partnerships took place. Additionally, a meeting with PwC Cyprus provided further guidance on business development and strategic growth.
Their visibility continued with a live interview on Capital TV’s evening news and participation in the EUt+ Podcast, where they shared their journey, vision, and reflections on their time in Cyprus.
The week concluded with meaningful exchanges with innovation experts, cultural experiences, and moments of relaxation. It was a truly inspiring and enriching experience, filled with networking, learning, and support for the next chapter of the Rhythm Touch team’s journey.
